MASKS… JUST DO IT! (In Style of Course!)

Unless it’s Halloween and you’re a kid (or a kid at heart), you’re likely not in love with the idea of wearing a mask. But it’s just something we have to live with for the time being. Since we must do it, we might as well do it in style!

These days everyone wants to do their part. Our designers are no different. They are creating stylish masks to help us keep each other safer. Wearing masks helps prevent the spread of COVID-19 to others. Our designers are not creating PPE (personal protective equipment, hospital grade masks) but are making non-medical grade masks.

Wanting to do our part in keeping everyone safer, we have created our own line of Mary Walter face masks! Our handmade cotton masks have an extra layer of fabric in the center for an added layer of protection, and comfortable elastic loops that go around the ears. We’ve made them lovingly in lots of fun colors and fabrics.

Our favorite local scarf designer, Isabelle Gougenheim, has created a line of masks, just as bright and colorful as her signature scarves. In fact, some have matching scarves- because we might as well coordinate while we protect ourselves! We have a range of styles and colors available for you to choose your favorites.

Suzi Roher, our beloved Canadian designer who specializes in gorgeous scarves and handmade belts, has done her part by creating a video than instructs you on how to make a super easy mask with one of her scarves. We love this idea! As if we needed another reason to love these scarves… if you forget your mask, it easily turns into one. It is especially handy for cooler days. Check out her tips here:

It’s important to wash your mask after each wearing. If you’re like us, you keep a few on hand to wear throughout the week, then when laundry day comes, they can all be washed together. All of our masks are Hand Washable.  As always, we suggest Eucalan's delicate detergent. Choose your favorite light scent: Grapefruit, Lavender, or Unscented.

Even though these masks are non-medical grade, remember that wearing one helps protect others. By protecting others, we protect ourselves in the long run. We’re in this together!
